FOR WHAT ITS WORTH by Nathan Pettijohn (Sept 2023)

  Author Announces Forthcoming New Title

Nathan Pettijohn, author of PUBLIC OPINION, announces his new book will release in mid-September.  The title, “For What It’s Worth,” is a high school comedy somewhere between Uncut Gems and Superbad and is set in a Tulsa high school in 2006. The author notes, "I personally attended Owasso High School and Tulsa University, so am a native and excited to have my newest novel set in my hometown."

SYNOPSIS:  The prank pact was meant to be fun. Now they just want to live through it.

Tulsa, 2006. Jon Ryan and his three best friends spend the final days of their senior year goofing off and taking mushrooms at casino concerts, keeping adulthood at arms’ length as long as possible. To memorialize their time together, they make a pact: one prank per person, per night, on the last week of school.

From subtle psychological torture and glitter bombs to a stolen llama and a dead body in the trunk, what begins as harmless fun escalates into a matter of life and death.

The pranks lead to a head-on collision with their mailbox aficionado principal, their jewel-thief history teacher, and a slew of petty criminals, oil-money gangsters, and the Japanese mob. It’s a hell of a final exam to pass if the boys hope to live till graduation.

Teen author Jocelynn Mitchell with illustrations by Alicia Mitchell has crafted a delightful book sure to please parents and young readers.

The cute dog has one mission in life, "I'm Ellie, and I'm the best worst dog ever! I'm awesome at everything, and in this book, I'm going to teach you my secrets so you can be awesome like me."

The adventures and journey will keep readers engaged and finishing it will lead to moving on to book 2! All about a pup named Piper!

A word from the author Jocelynn Mitchell:

"Hello! My name is Jocelynn and I am so glad you found The Book of Ellie! Now, I might be a bit biased, but if I had to guess this book will bring loads of smiles and laughter to its readers, no matter what age! I am currently 13, but have been working on The Book of Ellie since I was 11. I love to read and write, and it has always been a dream of mine to publish a book one day! When my pug, Ellie, was brought home I knew immediately that she would make an amazing main character in my book. Everything you see in the book are events that really have happened! Ellie has been quite the challenge when it comes to training and truly has a mind of her own, but that makes for a great story, and I could not be happier to call her my dog! I currently live in the great state of Texas and aside from writing I love to cook, swim, and be with my friends! I hope you enjoy the book and look out because I can assure you there is more to come!"

Note: A very proud Oklahoma relatives shared the book with me and I highly recommend it for personal home collections and for classroom or library collections. Talented young authors - and artists - need to be encouraged!

Author Who "Wrote the Book on Oklahoma UFOs" Publishes New Titles.

One wit noted "she wrote the book on Oklahoma UFOs" when she published the popular, SOONER SAUCERS: OKLAHOMA UFOs 1947-1969 (2020)...now author-researcher Marilyn A. Hudson has added to the field with these works.

"When I began my research into the topic,'" Author and researcher Marilyn A. Hudson notes, " I was frustrated by the lack of cohesive timelines of the events. So many authors and researchers skipped around in sharing events that it all became a bit muddled.  As a result, I built this chronology of some of the significant events, reactions, and influences of this pivotal year in history. It was a resource I wished had been available when I began to deep delve into the subject of UFO/UAP events. A timeline or chronology in history is vital to understanding if specific events really caused events.  Knowing which came first in some of these cases allows truth to float free to the surface and deeper issues to be visualized."

In response to the positive reception of her first book SOONER SAUCERS: Oklahoma UFOs 1947-1969, Hudson was encouraged to keep digging. As a result, in SOONER SAUCERS: volume 2, she has uncovered first-person accounts of things seen and events experienced never before shared with anyone. She has added to the timeline of events seen over Oklahoma skies from the great Airship era to recent years.

As a resident of the Route 66 Corridor in Oklahoma, Marilyn A. Hudson, has put together, with co-author Cullan Hudson, stories of things seen in the skies along the longest stretches of existing original Mother Road.  Oklahoma's stretch of historic Route 66 dips into the state in the far northeast corner, angles down to the center and then shoots westward along I-40.  Make the trip, read the stories, and keep your eyes on the skies!

Did something happen in a small Kansas town in the 1960's?  Were there things in the skies over the sunflower state? In this short book read the account of one person who thinks she might have encountered the strange in Kansas.  Was she part of an alien "catch-and-release" program? Read and decide.

All books are available in Kindle on Amazon. Some are in Paperback as well.
